MeL, I hope you will not take offense at the way I refer to you. I find MeL quite fitting. In Germanic or Gaelic origins, it means “sweet” or “honey.” I am a college major in English literature and history. Having seen a comment regarding your book, scripted by a scholar in one of my fields, I acquired a copy of your book, thinking I would glance at the style and stories. I was blown away, reading and unable to stop. I wish to congratulate you on this triumph and see that you have found your calling. Wishing you only success in the future!
Since a young age, I have been an avid reader and have participated in several book clubs. I have read hundreds of books, both in English and in my mother tongue, French. However, this particular book that I was gifted over the holidays has been very different. Throughout the numerous stories, no two are the same; yet all are linked, and many reflect life experiences that we have all had. Regardless of time, emotions remain. It is one of the truest novels I have read, and I sincerely hope that one day we see a sequel to these stories to discover what happens to the characters and how their lives evolve. I strongly recommend Victorian Short Stories to anyone who likes to read, enjoys dreaming, and relishes living in a fantasy world
Your social media posts should also constitute a book of their own: a wonderful collection of deep and inspirational thoughts. Thank you for reminding us of what is important in life.
So many events in the stories struck a chord with me. We may exist in a different century, but many things remain unchanged. I chuckled, I cried, and I hope to see what will come next in a following novel.
I only regret not being on Facebook to see the posts.
Could not put the book down, already hoping for a sequel.
A beautifully layered story that resonates with emotion and historical charm.
Written from the heart with great emotional depth
A deeply moving tale that brings the Victorian era to life with authenticity and grace
